Day 5: Massada and the Dead Sea Drive through the moonscaped Judean Desert down to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth
(almost 400 m’ below sea level). Visit the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
Cover yourself in mud and relax in the healthy sulpher springs.
Continue along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada. Ascend by cable car to the top of the mountain and
marvel at King Herod’s desert fortress and the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots stand against Roman
domination in 73 CE. Stroll through the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve.
